Soaring Ember started the way most good things do — with a love of the hunt.
We're a one-person thrift shop based in Perry, Oklahoma, and we believe the best finds aren't on the shelves of big box stores. They're tucked inside old farmhouses, stacked in estate sale garages, and waiting at the back of auctions where most buyers have already gone home.
Every piece we carry — whether it's a mid-century lamp, a worn denim jacket, a cast iron skillet, or a hand-painted cabinet — was chosen on purpose. We handle, inspect, and photograph each item ourselves. No mystery boxes. No warehouse bulk lots.
Perry is a small town of about 5,000 people in north-central Oklahoma, and the territory around here is rich with history. Generations of families, generations of stuff — and not the disposable kind. When those households turn over, we're there, making sure the good things find new homes instead of the landfill.
How We Find Our Pieces
We don't just grab whatever's available — we're selective. Here's where our inventory comes from:
Estate Sales
Oklahoma families with decades of accumulated history. Estate sales are where the real treasures live — furniture, tools, collectibles, and clothing with genuine age and character.
Local Auctions
Perry and the surrounding counties hold regular farm and household auctions. We show up early, stay late, and bid on the items most people overlook.
Community Donations
Good people in the community sometimes have things they'd rather see go to someone who appreciates them. We accept select donations and give them a second life.
Personal Curation
Before anything goes in the shop, it gets cleaned, photographed, and evaluated honestly. We describe condition accurately — we'd rather you know what you're getting.
